Today Michele and I finish our 12 days of Christmas, it has been wonderful posting with her again and searching for and finding inspiration.
Thank you all for following along with us and whether you are celebrating the holidays with friends, family or even alone, remember to find the small moments, the joy and the new memories and tuck them away in your hearts to remember on days when you need a lift, we all have so much to be grateful for if we open our eyes to see… find those moments, embrace your faith and love with a big open heart… Merry Christmas ❤️
Wishing each of you a very Merry Christmas!!! Lots of love and joy to you and yours.
And for those who are hurting or struggling or missing someone dear, I wish you peace in your heart and send you much love.
And lastly I want to thank Shirina for this journey… I have loved all of it and every post and especially getting to chat with you every day!! You are a sweet gift to all who know you and you are a beautiful friend… I treasure our friendship. Big hugs and love to you. Merry Christmas dear friend!
What is it about a White Christmas and the promise of beautiful snow and the hush that it brings over the day- the quiet and calm, the magic of the season…. remembering my White Christmas at my dad’s last year and days of delight when it snowed in Grass Valley… wishing you lovely days with or without snow but to be with those you love and cherish xo
“Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house…”
We will leave the tree lit all night tonight… Merry Christmas Eve friends.
I crave light so much this time of year… I find myself burning candles and putting up twinkle lights and watching every sunrise and sunset. To add a little more light outside, M and I made ice globes to light up the entryway. We light them from within with candles and they emit such a beautiful gentle glow. And they were so much fun to make! Wishing each of you light and love in your days.
Please help send get-well wishes to my dear friend Shirina who isn’t feeling well, and right before Christmas. Get better quickly sweet friend. Big hugs!! Love you soul sister!
On days like today, when you’re not feeling so hot… make some chicken potato soup and crawl in bed…
Pinecones~ always they’re very nostalgic for me and glittered ones as well
My family pictures of loved ones hanging on my tree whom I carry in my heart as they are no longer here or family members who live so far away~ so we can be together at this time of year
& favorite pieces I’ve framed
I’d love to hear about your favorite pieces at Christmas or favorite memories xo, Shirina
I’m a huge procrastinator with wrapping gifts… but today is the day! Starting to fill in under the tree. : ) I can’t find my name tags so it’s post-it notes for now. Lol 😂 How about you? Are you ready? ❤️ xo, Michele
Christmas baking… sweet treats. These are my Italian almond cookies… I LOVE making these. Along with cornflake wreaths. And thumbprint cookies with organic raspberry jam. Everyone in my family has something special they make… my sister in law makes the very best candy, mints and fudge. My sister makes yummy lemon cookies and mint meringues and my mom makes her powdered sugar butter and pecan balls and krumkake (a traditional Norwegian cookie) and so many more. Sweet treats… another way we share our love with those we love.
I love holiday stamps and that simple bit of art on the envelope~
Every year, I take a day off from work and we head over to Lake Street in Minneapolis to a store called “Ingebretsen’s”. It’s a Scandinavian store that has been in the same spot since 1921. It’s always filled shoulder-to-shoulder with the descendants of the Scandinavian immigrants who helped make Minnesota into the state that it is today.
And after we finish our shopping, we go to our favorite coffee shop over in St. Paul and just relax and visit. It’s always one of my favorite days in December.
In these crazy busy days of running around with all that we are trying to squeeze into our days it’s good to take a moment or two to treat ourselves with something delicious and also a soft blanket to wrap ourselves in during the chilly days~ comfort
